This day of travel in Bali is dedicated to the discovery of Bangli. You will start with a visit to a primary school (except on public holidays or school vacations) where you will be explained how the Indonesian school system works. Thereafter, this walk will lead you to meet the locals, then you will arrive in a small village located in the heart of the rice fields where you will be taught the techniques of planting and picking rice. The traditional process is to plow the field with a “tractor” pulled by cows. After tasting a young coconut, you will continue your way through rice fields and local fruit plantations. Finally, you will arrive at Pura Dalem temple, dedicated to God Shiva and have lunch an authentic Balinese dish facing the rice fields. In the afternoon, you will visit typical Balinese houses where you will be introduced to the techniques of making offerings “the Canang” and where you can participate in a Balinese music class “Gamelan or Rindik”. It is also possible to visit a silver factory that makes jewelry for Balinese dancers or brides.
